Former White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt is entering a new chapter, balancing fresh professional opportunities with a renewed focus on family life after leaving Washington, D.C., and returning to her home state of New Hampshire with her husband and two young children.

At 29, Leavitt has already built a high-profile political career. After stepping down from her White House position at the end of August, she secured a new role with Fox News, where she is scheduled to begin appearing as an on-air contributor on November 1.

The career change follows her decision to spend more time with her children, Nicholas, affectionately known as Niko, and her baby daughter, Viviana. Returning to New Hampshire also brings her closer to the state where she grew up and first developed her political ambitions.

Meanwhile, a Hampton property previously associated with Leavitt has attracted attention for a distinctive feature that makes it stand out in the surrounding neighborhood: an expansive two-acre lot.

The New Hampshire Home With an Unusually Large Lot

During Leavitt’s 2022 congressional campaign, her publicly listed home address was associated with a property in Hampton, New Hampshire, a coastal community with longstanding connections to both her and her husband, real-estate businessman Nicholas Riccio.

The classic-style residence is located near downtown Hampton, with schools and a public library nearby. The coastline is also within a short bicycle ride, offering convenient access to the beach and the surrounding community.

The house features a covered front porch, a welcoming living room on the first floor, separate kitchen and dining areas, and upstairs bedrooms. The basement reportedly includes a half bathroom and an additional room suitable for recreational activities.

However, the property’s most distinctive characteristic is its expansive two-acre parcel. According to The Mirror, the lot is unusually large for the surrounding neighborhood, providing considerably more outdoor space than many nearby homes while retaining convenient access to downtown Hampton and the coastline.

The location also reflects Riccio’s professional roots. According to Realtor.com, he established Riccio Enterprises LLC after renovating rundown waterfront properties in Hampton Beach and transforming them into resort destinations.

Riccio was also reported to own nine rental homes in New Hampshire and another property in West Virginia.

Although the family’s return to New Hampshire has been reported, it has not been confirmed that Leavitt and Riccio currently live in the specific Hampton property associated with her earlier congressional campaign.

A New Television Career After the White House

Leavitt’s return to New Hampshire coincides with another major professional development: her appointment as an official Fox News contributor.

The network announced that she would begin her new role on November 1, appearing across its news and opinion programming. Her work will involve offering political commentary informed by her firsthand experience in government and presidential campaigning.

Fox News Media CEO Suzanne Scott welcomed Leavitt to the network, emphasizing the value of her background in national politics.

“Karoline’s firsthand experience in the White House and on the presidential campaign trail gives her a distinct understanding of today’s political landscape,” Scott said.

Leavitt expressed gratitude for the opportunity, indicating that she intended to bring the same energy and candor associated with her previous work to her television appearances.

Her move also follows a path taken by former White House press secretary Kayleigh McEnany, who joined Fox News in 2021 after serving in the Trump administration.

The contributor position will allow Leavitt to remain involved in national political discussions without the constant demands associated with her former government position.

Why Karoline Leavitt Chose to Put Motherhood First

On August 12, 2026, Leavitt announced her resignation, explaining that the demanding responsibilities of serving as White House press secretary had become increasingly difficult to balance with raising her children.

She described her approximately 18 months in the administration as “the honor and adventure of a lifetime,” reflecting on her time working in the West Wing, traveling internationally, and meeting foreign leaders.

Yet the arrival of her second child, Viviana, on May 1 brought her family priorities into sharper focus.

Leavitt explained that the position required a level of constant availability that made it difficult to give her two children the time and attention she wanted to provide as a mother.

Her experience after the birth of her first child had already demonstrated the challenges of combining motherhood with a demanding political career.

When Niko was born in July 2024, Leavitt returned to Donald Trump’s presidential campaign just four days later, following the assassination attempt against him in Butler, Pennsylvania.

She later told Megyn Kelly that the circumstances brought her back to work much sooner than she had anticipated or wanted.

Following Viviana’s birth and her subsequent return from maternity leave, Leavitt ultimately reached a different decision about her priorities.

Leaving the White House was bittersweet. She valued the opportunity to serve in such a prominent role, but her desire to spend more time with her children became increasingly important.

Trump confirmed that Leavitt would remain among his trusted outside advisers. She also announced plans to continue working with MAGA Inc., where she had previously served as a spokesperson.

Her departure, therefore, does not mark a complete retreat from politics. Instead, it represents a change in how she intends to balance her professional ambitions with her responsibilities at home.

Inside the Washington Residence Her Family Left Behind

Before returning to New Hampshire, Leavitt lived with Riccio and their children in a Craftsman Colonial-style residence in Washington, D.C., according to a March 2025 report by The Mirror.

Built in 2003, the property reportedly features a swimming pool, landscaped gardens, a patio, and large windows that allow natural light to fill the interiors.

The main floor includes hardwood flooring and 10-foot ceilings. Family photographs previously shared by Leavitt offered glimpses of bright interiors, white furnishings, and spacious living areas.

The living room features a fireplace, sofa, and armchair, while French doors connect the dining room to a private deck.

The kitchen reportedly includes stainless-steel appliances, terrazzo countertops, two pantries, and a farmhouse sink. Photographs of Leavitt holding Niko also revealed white cabinetry, pendant lighting, and dark fixtures.

Despite the home’s polished appearance, the family photographs captured the ordinary realities of life with a young child, including baby bottles and everyday household items around the kitchen.

The residence reportedly also includes a library suitable for use as an office, a guest bedroom and bathroom on the main floor, and an upstairs primary suite with high ceilings, a large closet, dual vanities, a spa tub, and a separate shower.

Additional bedrooms, a laundry room, a garage, and a covered carport complete the reported features of the property.

Family Photographs Reveal a More Personal Side

Beyond the political headlines and professional milestones, some of Leavitt’s social-media photographs have offered a more intimate look at her life as a mother.

During the family’s time in Washington, images revealed the spaces she had prepared for her children, including Niko’s nursery.

The room featured soft blue walls, a white crib, a large white dresser, and a circular sunburst mirror. Above the crib hung a personalized sign displaying the name “NICHOLAS,” while a light-colored rug covered part of the hardwood floor.

The nursery reflected the bright, neutral decorating style seen throughout the residence.

Other photographs captured significant family milestones, including Leavitt’s second pregnancy.

In one holiday photograph, she posed beside a Christmas tree decorated with red, white, and silver ornaments. Another image showed an ultrasound photograph next to a small shirt bearing the words “BABY SIS,” announcing that Niko would soon become an older brother.

These personal moments offered a glimpse into the family life that Leavitt later said she wanted to prioritize.

For someone whose professional responsibilities placed her at the center of national political attention, the photographs revealed a different side of her daily life — one centered on motherhood, family milestones, and preparing for the arrival of a new child.

A Fresh Start in New Hampshire

With her new Fox News position and her family’s return to New Hampshire, Karoline Leavitt is beginning a different phase of her life.

Her next chapter will allow her to remain a public figure and political commentator while creating more room for family responsibilities that became increasingly important after the birth of her daughter.

Although the exact New Hampshire residence where the family currently lives has not been confirmed, the Hampton property previously associated with Leavitt highlights her longstanding ties to the state.

Its unusually spacious two-acre lot remains one of its most distinctive features, setting it apart from many homes in the surrounding neighborhood.

For Leavitt, the transition marks more than a change of address or a new television role. It represents an effort to reshape her professional life around her family, while continuing to pursue opportunities that keep her firmly in the public eye.
